Saint Catherine’s will be holding a Light up a Life service on Friday 6 December at St Mary’s Church in Scarborough and everyone is welcome.
The service starts at 6pm and will be a chance to come together, reflect and remember loved ones.
Light up a Life appeal packs have been sent out to supporters which contain two cardboard Christmas baubles, each bauble having a space to write on your own personal message. One bauble can be taken to a service to be blessed and then they will all be displayed at Saint Catherine’s over the festive period.
The service will be led by Rev. Dr Arleen Ingham, minister at Saint Mary’s. There will be a dedicated Saint Catherine’s Light up a Life tree illuminated as part of the service. All the lights will shine to signify the life of someone special.
Fundraiser Louise Gravestock said: “Christmas can be a time where families and friends come together, so our Light up a Life service is here to give everyone the chance to share a special moment of remembrance together.”
Louise added: “All the money raised will go directly to patient care and help us to continue to support the families who need us. There is no minimum donation all we ask is that people are as generous as they can be. We always appreciate all the wonderful support we receive not just at Christmas, but throughout the year. Thank you to all our supporters.”
