Volunteers’ Week is taking place from 1-7 June, which is an annual event and chance to say thank you for the contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK.
At Saint Catherine’s, we have around 550 volunteers, who help with roles across the whole organisation – including in our shops, gardens, in-patient unit, fundraising offices, kitchens and more.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, our volunteers have been staying safe at home, in line with Government guidance and with their health and wellbeing the number one priority.
So with this in mind, this year’s Volunteers’ Week looks very different. However, still wanted to mark the occasion by highlighting the importance of volunteers and the amazing difference they make.
By giving their time freely, their contribution to the organisation is worth around £1 million a year – but to us they are priceless.
Debbie Hilton, staff and volunteer services manager, said: “We are really missing our wonderful volunteers and we know they are missing being at Saint Catherine’s.
“So to all our volunteers, we want to let you know that we are all OK and we hope you are too. We miss you all and we are looking forward to seeing you again when it’s safe to do so.”
