This week is Trustees’ Week – a national spotlight on trustees and the hugely important work they do for charities such as Saint Catherine’s.
Trustees are the people in charge of a charity. They play a vital role, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charity’s work.
Meet Simon, Margaret and John – three of our brilliant trustees. Last week they spent a day with staff in fundraising and communications to learn more about the day-to-day work involved. Here’s what they enjoy most about being a trustee:
Simon: “Being part of an outstanding organisation that has patients at its heart, whose staff and volunteers are wholeheartedly committed to providing the best service they can.”
Margaret: “Seeing the dedication and commitment of the staff and volunteers and hearing from patients and families about their appreciation of the work that Saint Catherine’s does and the difference it makes to their lives. It is amazing and very humbling to be part of such an incredible organisation.”
John: “Meeting staff and volunteers, seeing the help and support the hospice provides to its many patients and visitors.”
Thank you to all our trustees for the invaluable work that you do – and to the ONE MILLION trustees all over the country who give up their time for charities – we salute you!
